Vivian Joye Mussman died peacefully at home surrounded by family January 24th, 2004 at the age of 74.
She was born, November 29th, 1929 in Mobile, Alabama to Joshua & Sadie (Snowden) Wood. In 1946 she met and married Donald Mussman, who was stationed in Mobile Bay, Ala. After WWII. The 57-year union brought forth 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Mussman, 3 children, Steven (Maureen) Mussman, Elizabeth Campbell, and Judith (Peter) Roesch. She was the loving grandmother of Scotty, Diana and Kate Mussman, Christopher and Stacey Campbell, Sarah, Brian and Kevin Roesch.
Joye was a dedicated member of Lindenwald United Methodist Church serving as President of the alter guild and various other committees.
Since moving to Fairfield in 1959, she was an active member of the community and city schools. In addition, she was employed at Fairfield High School for 23 years in the food service division.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Donald S. Mussman Jr. in 1959 and her brother, Richard A. Wood Sr. in 1999.
Her devotion to her family and friends is marked in every aspect of her life. Like her name she brought "joy" to all those who knew her and she will be forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m., Monday (Today) January 26th, 2004 at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory 4976 Winton Rd, Fairfield. Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m.,Tuesday, January 27th at Lindenwald United Methodist Church 3501 Pleasant Ave, Hamilton, with Pastor Barry Burns presiding.
Family and friends are invited to reminisce and share memories at the church immediately following the interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be directed to Lindenwald United Methodist Church or Hospice of Cincinnati. The family will accept condolences at www.avancefuneralhome.com
