Ward C. Landis

Age 82 of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Wayne Hospital ICU. He was born August 25, 1924 in Greenville, OH, the son of Roy and Ethel (Fitzwater) Landis. In March of 1945 Ward married June Amburn in Greenville. Mr. Landis was a Vice President and Controller for 2nd National Bank and US Bank, until his retirement in 1989. Ward was a Veteran of the Army Air Corps. Also, his memberships included: First St. John United Church of Christ; Past President and member of NBAC; Executive Board Member of Children's Home; American Red Cross; Children's Diagnostic Center; Butler County Draft Board; Hamilton City Club; and Hamilton American Legion. Ward taught banking principles at Garfield High School and enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his wife, June Landis; daughters, Stephenie (David) Lake, Darcel "Dee Dee" Bolser, and Peggy (Lyle) Kosher; grandchildren, Brian Foxx, Kirk Ward Bolser, and Joshua Foxx; great-grandchildren, Maddison Foxx, Courtney and Corey Fales, Kristopher Bolser, Mason Foxx, Kiersten and Patrick Fales; and sisters, Eileen (Carl) Wright and Glenna Matlock. Ward was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chalmer, Walter, and Clarence; and grandchildren, RaeAnn Foxx, Kristopher Carey Bolser and Kira Foxx.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Pastor Craig Fourman officiating. Graveside service will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2007 at the funeral home.
