William D. Chamberlain
Age 70, of Hamilton, entered into eternal glory with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on Friday June 22nd. He was born November 1, 1941 the son of William and Elsie (Bond) Chamberlain. Bill graduated from Talawanda High School in 1959 and began proud service to his country as a United States Marine. On June 1, 1963 Bill married his sweetheart Peggy Ditmyer and she preceded him in death on February 16, 2005. To their union was born a son, Roger Chamberlain. Bill was a skilled electrician working for Cincinnati Bell Telephone and Mosler Safe Company. He was a member of West Side Church of Christ, 1190 Stalhaber Rd., 45013. Over the years Bill enjoyed spending time on the back porch overlooking the family farm, playing with his dog "Buddy", as well as camping, boating on "Peg of my Heart" and his side-band radio club where he was known as "Mercury5960". Bill was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his son, Roger; three grandchildren, Joshua (Erica), Brian and Darin Chamberlain; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Chamberlain; brother, Gary (Susan) Chamberlain; and sister, Sandy (Alan) Marble. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 27th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory 4976 Winton Rd. Fairfield 45014. Funeral service Thursday at 10:00 AM officiated by Rev. Dan Knisley and Rev. Pete Taylor. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the children's ministry of West Side Church of Christ. The family wishes to thank the many doctors and nurses at Ft. Hamilton Hospital along with Hospice of Hamilton staff for their skilled and attentive care. In addition the family thanks his many friends, especially neighbors Terry and Dee Tome and Steve and Mary Jo Lahrmann for their love and care for so many years.
