William L. Prentice

WILLIAM L.

Age 83 of Hamilton went to be with the Lord, August 7, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born January 16, 1931 in Osgood, IN, the son of Walter and Sylvia (Reed) Prentice.  On June 19, 1952 in Seattle, WA William married his sweetheart he met in Hawaii, Mae Konishi.  He was a US Army Veteran serving his country during the Korean Conflict.  William worked as a Sales and Service Manager for Ford Motor Company at different venues, and later was a volunteer at the Ft. Hamilton Hospital, where he never met a stranger!  His memberships included: Ross Community United Methodist Church; Disabled American Veterans; Veteran of Foreign Wars; Society of the 3 rd Infantry Division; and Kentucky Colonels.

Mr. Prentice leaves behind his loving wife, Mae Prentice; daughter, Leilani “Lani” (Ronnie) Ray; grandchildren, Erin (Roger) Corbett and Emily Dreisbach; great-grandchild, Roger M. Corbett III; and sister, Shirley (Ray) Hester.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Rosemary (Larry) Rouse.

The Prentice Family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to friends and family for all of their love and support.  Thank you to Vitas Hospice with a special thank you to Kelly Woods, RN and Dr. Erika Brudzinski for their excellent care for Bill and his family.

The family will receive friends at 10am until time of service at 12pm on Saturday, August 16th at the Ross Community United Methodist Church, 2943 Hamilton-Cleves Rd., Ross, OH  45013 with Rev. Grant Montgomery officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hamilton Community Foundation (Bill and Mae Prentice Scholarship Fund, c/o Hamilton Community Foundation, 319 N. Third St., Hamilton, OH 45011) and/or Ross Community United Methodist Church.
