William Donald Tackett

William Donald Tackett, age 82 passed away on Thursday July 17, 2025. He was born at home on May 13, 1943 in Rowan County, Kentucky into a world in turmoil and change. Born again in Jesus Christ in 1961 at the Bible Baptist Church in Summerside Ohio, he later felt God's call to ministry and graduated from Baptist Bible College in Missouri.

In his life he was a lot of things: a son, a brother, a husband and a father; a pastor to many churches; an evangelist who preached the Gospel on 5 continents and in countries as widespread as Russia and Panama and North Korea and dozens more; a help and friend to missionaries and a Bible witness to tens of thousands of people.

Nonetheless the foundation of his life is that he was a sinner like all of us, saved by God's redeeming grace and privileged to be a tool used by God for great things.

He passed quietly and peacefully in his sleep, waking to life everlasting in the presence of the Lord

He is preceded in death by his parents Elijah Tackett and Nellie Tackett (Debord) and his brother Jack Tackett (Diane). He is survived by his sister Phyllis Childress (Jim), brother Chris Tackett (Margaret), former wife Dian (Wilce), his children Melanie Day (Cecil), Bill Tackett, Adam Tackett (Tonya), and Brian Tackett (Dawnn). He is also survived by his grandchildren Greg Day (Amy), Hannah Tackett, Kristen Cramer (Anthony), Cassie Tackett, Belle Robbins, Jay Robbins, Eli Tackett and Nicholas Tackett as well as two great grandchildren, Peyton Day and Marlowe Day

The service will be held Saturday July 26 @ 1:00 pm at Lighthouse Church 7061 Sparks Ln Fairfield Twp, OH 45011. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.avancefuneralhome.com
