William "Earl" Jones, Sr.

William "Earl" Jones, Sr., age 76, of Hamilton passed away at home on Thursday, February 9, 2006 and went on to be with the Lord. He was born on May 16, 1929 in Manchester, KY to the late J.B. Marshall and Sudie (Lewis) Jones. Earl will be lovingly missed by his wife Faye, whom he married on September 10, 1952; daughter Daphne Jones of Hamilton; son Bill (Cindy) Jones of Hamilton, granddaughter Kristen Jones; grandson William E. Jones, III (B.J.) of Hamilton; sisters Helen Dye of Hamilton and Clara (Wendell) Hobby of Pigeon Forge, TN. Earl is also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends who will also miss him. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Dillard Jones and Cecil Jones.

Earl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1947 to 1950. He enjoyed his career at Champion Papers until his retirement in 1993. Earl was an avid softball player for Champion Mill League

Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, February 13, 2006 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, with Revs. James P. Bryant and Gordon Bialik officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Internment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
