Wilma C. Suits, age 81, of Hamilton, Ohio, went to be with her Lord at 5am, Friday, March 25, 2005 at Fort Hamilton Hospital. Born in Morgan County, Tennessee March 13, 1924, she was the daughter of A. H. and Martha (Nelson) Adkins.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James W. Suits, two adoring children J. Bruce Suits (Pamela) of Cincinnati and Connie (Larry) Proctor of Hamilton and grandchildren Kristy (Kyle) Gantz of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Adam Proctor of Hamilton, and her brother Thomas J. (Blanche) Adkins of LaFollette, Tennessee . She is preceded by infant daughter Mary Martha, her parents and nine brothers and sisters: Theodore, Jack, John, Gerald, Frank, Wilbur Adkins; and Madge VanMeter, Jean Calloway and Sue Hart.
She was devoted to her family, community and church, always placing others before herself and providing a helping hand and a kind word. She was a member of Fairfield Church of Christ and Ft. Hamilton Chapter No. 568 Order of Eastern Star. She helped develop the "Keystones" at her church, taught Sunday school at Lindenwald Christian Church, enjoyed quilting, traveling and reading her Bible. She also volunteered her time at retirement homes and with the Salvation Army.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m., Monday, March 28 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield, Ohio 45014 with David Hargrave officiating. Visitation will also be Monday from 4p.m. - until time of service at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held 1p.m. Tuesday, March 29 at Resthaven Cemetery, 3000 Hwy 840, Loyall (Harlan) Kentucky. Condolences may be sent at www.avancefuneralhome.com.
