COPE
Zella Mae, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2012 at her daughter's home in Tallahassee, FL, at the age of 77 surrounded by her family.
The second of six children and the eldest daughter, Zella was born July 5, 1935 to Hardy Mullins and Tabitha (Ballinger) Mullins in Mt. Orab, OH. She married Franklin "Roby" Cope on March 27, 1953. They lived many years in Hamilton, OH, where both of their children were born, and then settled in Fairfield, OH. After 55 years of marriage, Zella was preceded in death by her loving husband.
Zella was filled with integrity, humor and life-an example to many of the power of a grateful attitude. Retired from General Electric in Evendale, OH, where she was employed as a secretary, she was a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church and the Fairfield Civitan Club. An avid gardener, she found pleasure in the outdoors, carefully tending to her beautiful flowers.
She is survived by her children, Kim Cope and Robyn Cope; her grandchildren, Rachael Cope, Adrian Taureau, and Sophie Taureau; and three siblings, Barbara Paxton, Martha Elam, and Candace Johnson.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH, 45014. Her family will be receiving friends at Avance Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, November 20th from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m.; burial will follow later in the week at the Chasteen-Cope Cemetery near Mt. Vernon, KY. Memorial donations can be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL, 32308. Condolences may be given at www.avancefuneralhome.com
