FREY, Andrea Kay (nee Mellor)

Andrea Kay (Mellor) FREY, born October 6, 1953 and passed away October 31, 2022.  Andrea Kay Mellor was born in Lansing, MI on October 6, 1953, the Daughter of Stanley & Arlis (Pennock) Mellor, originally of Lansing, MI.  Her parents are both deceased.  She lived in Fairfield Twp., Ohio from 1986 until 2022, but passed away in Loveland (Cincinnati), Ohio on October 31, 2022.  Andrea attended Waverly HS in Michigan before her family moved to Middletown, Ohio where she graduated from Middletown HS in 1972.
Andrea held various jobs in the medical healthcare field, mostly as a Phlebotomist at Christ Hospital (Cincinnati), Jewish Hospital (Cincinnati), McCullough Hyde Hospital (Oxford, Ohio) and finally for Hoxworth Blood Center, (University of Cincinnati), Cincinnati, Ohio.
Andrea was also a member of the Fairfield Township Fire Dept. and was an Advanced EMT on the Fairfield Twp. Life Squad in the late 1980’s and 1990’s.
Andrea met Lawrence P. Frey of Cincinnati, Ohio in 1978 and they were married on October 20, 1979.  Husband Lawrence is the Son of Frank W. Frey Jr. and Eva Elizabeth (Fassel) Frey, both deceased. Lawrence also has 2 Sisters, Susan Elizabeth Frey and Linda Ann Frey, both of Cincinnati, Ohio. Andrea and Larry had just celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary. They had 3 children ---  Christopher Lawrence Frey, Jeffrey Peter Frey and Erin Leigh (Frey) Rosenbalm.
1.) Christopher passed away while serving in the US Army 2011. Christopher is survived by his Daughter, Shelby Archer of Evansville, IN, Step Daughter Madison Davis of Louisville, KY, Son, Austin Scott Frey of Fairfield Twp., Ohio, Son, Tristan James Frey of Fairfield, Ohio, and Daughter Morgan Frey of Louisville, KY.
2.) Jeffrey resides in Fairfield Twp., Ohio with his loving girlfriend Amanda Nichole Taylor. Jeffrey has 3 sons, Ethan Nathaniel Gage Malanowski, Fairfield Twp., Ohio and Christopher Lawrence Frey II and Ares Marshall Frey, both of Delhi, Ohio.
3.) Erin resides with her husband Jerry Richard Rosenbalm and children in Hamilton, Ohio. Daughter Taylor Marie Frey, Step Daughter Kaitlyn Alex Michaele Rosenbalm, Son Montana Leigh Gray, Daughter Lillian Christine Gray, and Son Lincoln Bellamy Justin Rosenbalm.
Andrea Frey is survived by 4 Brothers --- 1.) David and Sucile Mellor and their Son Mark of Williamsburg, MI, 2.) Dean Mellor of Redslands, CA, 3.) Joel & Juanita (Sue, deceased) Mellor of Akron, Ohio. Joel and Sue have a Son, Matt and his wife Michelle, and 1 Daughter. Joel and Sue also have a Daughter, Emily and Bobby Nelson, who have 1 Son & 2 Daughters. 4.) John and Michele Mellor and their Son Ethan of Columbiana, Ohio.  Andrea was a wonderful Mother of 3 and GrandMother of 12 (10 natural and 2 step children brought to the family through other marriages). She loved children so much and each brought a special twinkle to her eyes.  Andrea always had very fond memories of her early life experiences while growing up in Michigan. She especially seemed at her happiest whenever she talked about going to one of Michigan’s many beautiful lakes. Her wish when leaving this earth and moving on to the next adventure has always been to have her ashes scattered on a lake in Michigan. So, at some future time, probably the spring of 2023, the family will plan an excursion to Michigan to fulfill her wish.
At this point in time, a small immediate family celebration may be held. But plans are not finalized.
Andrea was a gigantic animal lover. In lieu of flowers, if individuals would like to make a donation to your own special favorite charity, especially those that are animal related, we think Andrea would be so proud.  We are overwhelmed by the expressions of the many people whose life Andrea touched. She was a very unique, talented, loving and caring wonderful woman.  Thank everyone so much for their very kind wishes and prayers.
