Barbara Rose (Benzing) Blevens

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara Rose Blevens (Benzing) at the age of 89 on Thursday April 27, 2023.

She was born on March 8, 1934, in Hamilton, Ohio to Adrian and Kathryn Benzing. On December 19, 1953, she married Allan Roger Blevens, her high school sweetheart.

Barbara was a graduate of the Hamilton City Schools and an active member of Delta Theta Chi Sorority and Fairfield Women’s for many years. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and passion for helping animals in need.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kathy Rutherford, and her husband, Rock Rutherford; daughter-in-law, Tonya Blevens; grandchildren Allan "Scottie" (Cindy) Blevens Jr., Nichole (Glenn) Janos and Ryan (Maria) Blevens; great-grandchildren Christian (Danielle), Lily, Ashlin, and Sebastian; her devoted niece, Jenny (Roy) Porter, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Roger Blevens; her parents; daughter, Lisa Blevens; son, Allan Scott Blevens; daughter-in-law, Monica Blevens; brothers Adrian (Beulah) Benzing, Gene (Anna Mae) Benzing, Jerrold (Juanita) Benzing; sisters Rita (Ray) Murphy, and Betty (Wilbur) Cross.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 11:30AM until time of service (1:30PM) at Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, 45014, with Pastor Christy Cooling officiating. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barbara's loving memory to an animal shelter or charity of your choice.
