Betty Z. Howard, 83, passed away peacefully with family surrounding her on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. She was born in Irvine, Kentucky on June 16, 1938.
Betty was known for her cooking and baking which prompted her to write her own cookbook. She was also known for her sewing, with her handiwork displayed in many homes in the area. Her favorite pastimes were jigsaw puzzles, family history and taking pictures (mainly of trees). Betty was a faithful follower of Jesus who was the picture of Mary and Martha in one. She enjoyed Bible Study, teaching and sharing her faith with others. She retired as a Correctional Officer with the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.
Betty’s legacy continues as she leaves behind her siblings, Roger (Phyllis) Richardson and Barbara (Dennis) Day; children, Tamela (Stewart) Leonard, Donna (Mason) Sisler, Billy Ray (Gail) Howard and Michael (Amy) Howard; grandchildren, Brandon (Heidi) Leonard, Philip Fairchild, Candace (Ian Crow) Fairchild, Bethany (Nathan) Storm, Matthew (Ashley) Leonard, Kendra (Casey) Thomas, Aaron (Chassity) Leonard, Steven (Robyn) Smith, Andrea (Matthew) Wooding, Sydney Howard, Megan Howard and Matthew Franklin; great-grandchildren, Joy Storm, Percy Storm, Leslieanna Storm, Liam Fairchild, Emery Thomas, Irene Leonard and Amelia Wooding.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carrice D. Richardson and Madeline (Thomas) Richardson and great-grandson, Archer T. Storm.
Visitation will be held at Avance Funeral Home on Thursday, January 6 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm with a celebration of life beginning at 6:00 pm.
