Brenda Lee (Dillon) Mattox

Brenda Lee (nee Dillon) - passed away peacefully on the early evening of May 27, 2021. She was surrounded by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Brenda was born to Harry and Juanita Dillon of Peterstown, W VA on November 27, 1943. She has one older sister, Opal Stroud of Ocala, Florida. She is survived by four children: Kathy Baker, Michael Kincaid, James Mattox, and Kristi Harrison. She has seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents (Harry and Juanita) and her husband (Wilson Mattox) of 37 1/2 years.
Brenda got married at the age of 14 and had her daughter at the age of 15. She only had an 8th grade education, but still went on to serve for Forest Park City Council and retire from Macy's Customer Service department. Her manager said she will be remembered for her feisty attitude and classy dressing. She always fought for what she believed in and did not have a filter when it came to her opinion. You always knew where you stood with her. No matter the resistance she faced, she never gave up.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 5:30 – 7 P.M. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH, 45014.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Online condolences may be left for the family by visiting www.avancefuneralhome.com
