Carey R. Fender of Hamilton, Ohio passed away on Tuesday March 14, 2023, at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born August 17, 1949, to the late Carey W. and Geraldine Fender in Hillsboro, Ohio. On June 15, 1980, in Mt. Healthy, Ohio he was married to D. Anne Calvert. He was a machinist for twenty-six years. He served as a Staff Sargent in the Air Force from October of 1968 through April of 1975. He remained active with other Vietnam Veterans. He was a member of Timberhill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife D. Anne Fender; his three daughters Heather (Steven) Kleiner, Darlene Whitaker, and Carrie Anne Ortiz (Charlie Jones); three siblings Charlotte (Thomas) Tierney, Linda Fender, David (John) Fender, eleven grandchildren: Gene and William Fender, Shayna and Bradley (Courtney) Whitaker, Michael (Renee) and Christopher (Kamryn Lehman) Kleiner, Kateland (Joshua) Wallick, Karrie (Kevin) Osborne, Klowie Ortiz (Ryan Farrell), Robert Ortiz, (Kaitlin Caldwell), Cole Jones; eight great-grandchildren: Aiden, Naomi, Bralyn, Dean, Samwell, Zach, Ambrose, and Seymour; nephews; Scott Creager, Brian Backscheider, Geoff Calvert II, David Calvert, and nieces: Susie Backscheider, and Kim Stettler.

He is preceded in death by his parents Carey and Geraldine Fender, his son John Fender Sr., his grandson John Fender Jr., and his mother-in-law Lucile Calvert. Funeral services will be at the gravesite at Union Chapel Cemetery at 3:00 PM on the 22nd of March 2023 with Air Force Military Honors located at 3120 North Taylorsville Road., Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
