Carolyn B. Ashton, a resident of Fairfield Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2023, three years after the passing of her husband of 62 years, Richard C. Ashton. She is survived by her son, Richard Todd Ashton and Jeanette Sears; grandchildren, Emily, Danielle and Bryan; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Daughter to Bascum and Jeanette Bowling, family was most important to Carolyn. She spent a happy childhood with her siblings - Carl, Maurice, Cecil, Donald, Ray and Alma - in Flat Creek, Kentucky.
Carolyn was a graduate of Union College in Barborville, Kentucky. She moved from Kentucky to Hamilton, Ohio to pursue a teaching career. She taught second grade at Fairfield North Elementary School for over 20 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Carolyn was a kind and caring daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. With great pleasure she spoiled her pets, Kit, Tabby Abby, and Misty. In her time spent in Florida, Hawaii, England, and USA road trips, she always enjoyed talking with people and making new friends. Her smile and enthusiasm will be missed greatly by her friends and family.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:00am until time of service at 12:00pm at the Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield, Ohio 45014.
