Ernest James Jr. “Ernie”, age 61, of Cincinnati formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away on January 12, 2020 after a courageous bat with ALS. He was born on February 12, 1958 in South Bend Indiana to the late Ernest Leon Sr. and Martha (nee Renes) Brambert.
Prior to his illness Ernie was employed by the Mortgage Department of 5/3rd Bank; an avid photographer, particularly taking photos at the Cincinnati Zoo; loved his two Bengal cats; and a volunteer at Crossroads in Oakley. Most of all, he enjoyed making people laugh, and spending time with his many friends
He is survived by his much loved son, Jacob M. (Katie Lake) Collamer of Cincinnati; sisters, Karen (Mel) Gingerich of Morenci, MI, Marlene (George) Rieder of Grovespring, MO, Evaleen (Jerry) Shafter of Wolcottville, IN, Susan (Charlie) Shields of Oswego, IL, and Dr Pam Brambert of Fort Huachuka City, AZ numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. when his memorial service will begin. Celebration of Life at 12 p.m. at Crossroads Church, 3500 Madison Rd., Cincinnati, 45209. His Hometown celebration will be held in South Bend, IN on April 18, 2020 from 12:30-5:30 p.m. at the Blue Heron at Blackthorn.
