With heavy hearts we share the passing of Garry C. Grammel on March 6, 2024, after a brief cardiac illness. Garry was born September 12, 1948 (75) in Hamilton, Ohio to Christian C. and Evelyn (Theobald) Grammel. Garry was a twin to his brother Jerry. He graduated from Garfield High School (1966) and Belmont University (1970) where he played baseball for all 4 years. Best known in the Hamilton Community for his service as a Hamilton City Police Officer, followed by teaching Criminal Justice at D. Russel Lee. He enjoyed coaching baseball and soccer on the youth and High School level. An avid fan of Baseball, College Basketball, and Football. Pastimes were golfing with his firefighter buddies who affectionately called him “the pig”. Garry took pride in telling everyone that he “was the only pig allowed to play with them”. Friday lunch at Skyline, and Police and Fire lunches were special. Watching his grandchildren participate in sports, music, and theater, brought him great joy and pride. On April 24, 1976, he married Mary Kay (Vogeler) Grammel, they shared 48 years together. He was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law. Survived by his wife Kay; sons Brian (Ellen), Brent (Sara) and Eddie (Kerry); grandchildren Caleb, Olivia, Alexander, Evan, Ryder, Ellyanne, Lyra, Eli, and Emerson. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Jerry, and brother Bruce.
