SPURLOCK, Georgetta (Chaney)
age 71 of Hamilton, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
She was born on September 7th, 1952, in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of Tracy W. Sr. & Marie Chaney (Horn) of Williamsdale, Ohio. Georgetta attended and graduated from New Miami High School in 1970. On December 27th, 1971, in Covington, Kentucky, she married Terry Spurlock, loving husband of 52 years. Georgetta retired from the United States Postal Service in 2014 after 29 years of service working as a Letter Carrier.
Mrs. Spurlock was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hamilton, Ohio.
She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, quilting, cooking big family meals, jewelry making, puzzles, traveling to music concerts, collecting Kokopelli’s and cactuses, and spending time with her friends, family and grandchildren.
Georgetta is survived by her husband Terry Spurlock, daughter Karly Alcorn (Spurlock), son Royce (Leslie) Spurlock, grandchildren David Alcorn, Lyla Spurlock, Gwyndolyn Spurlock, Coleman Alcorn, Holdyn Spurlock, & Trace Alcorn, sisters Donna Barrett (the late Michael) & Teresa Batdorf (the late Gerald), brothers Tracy (Lisa) Chaney & Edwin (Jenny) Chaney, mother-in-law Norma Spurlock (the late Karl), several brother & sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Richard and Elizabeth Chaney (Reece), William and Gertrude Horn (Freeman), her parents Tracy W. Sr. and Marie Chaney (Horn), sister Linda Chaney, mother-in-law Norma Johnson (Campbell), father in law Karl (Norma) Spurlock, and great nephew Maysin Richard.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at Hanover Reserve on Sunday, May 19th, 2024, from 2:00-5:00pm. Food and soft drinks will be provided. All are invited to attend and come as you are, as we gather to celebrate the life of Georgetta Spurlock.
