James E. Davis, Jr.

James Earl Davis Jr. went home to Jesus on January 17, 2023 at age 60.

James was born to James and Barbara Davis (Compton) on April 17, 1962 in Hamilton, Ohio. James was a class of 1980 graduate of Garfield High School. He went on to attend Miami University and graduated with his Bachelors degree in 1984. James started working for Anthem in August 1984 and was still an employee of Anthem at the time of his passing almost 39 years later.

James met his wife, Lois (Dwyer) in 1984 at Miami University. They married on July 30, 1988 and went on to have three children, Jonathon (Aly) Davis, Jamie (Tré) Biswell, and Jordan Davis. James was also the proud Papaw to Gideon Davis, Sorin Davis, and soon to be Lydia Biswell.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, James also loved being “Coach Jim” to numerous athletes for over 20 years and “Mr. James” to the children in the church Awana program.  

James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara Davis. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings Cecilia (Pat) Gaynor, Pat Davis, and Judith Davis, and many other loving family members.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday January 24, 2023 at Fairfield West Baptist Church, 5345 Muskopf Road, Fairfield, OH   45014.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday January 25, 2023 at the Church with Pastor Rob Rosenbalm, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, we are requesting donations be made to the Awana Program at Fairfield West Baptist Church.
