John Myers Obituary

MYERS
John H. Myers – age 73 of Springfield Twp, OH passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022. He was born in Middletown, NY to the late Norman and Cecelia Myers (nee: Sullivan). On April 8, 1972, he married his wife of 50 years, Robin Brown. He loved his family, a clever joke, helping others, fixing what needed mending and getting things done right. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
John was a quiet man but ever ready with the well-honed wit of the Myers family. With a work ethic born from summers on his Uncle Jim’s farm, John earned a wrestling scholarship and BSME from Clarkson University.  Along the way he added to an already impressive count of brothers as an officer in the Beta Tau Fraternity. John worked for over 40 years as an engineer, spending most of his time in the pulp and paper industry living and working amid the “smell of money” that only a true paper-man could fully appreciate.
John’s career took him to 9 different states (a couple of them more than once) before he retired and moved to Ohio, but through them all his love for his family and his faith were constants. In addition to being a great husband and Dad, John was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, the School Board, and the Parish council as well as a supporter of Scouting and a soccer coach. John was an avid shade-tree mechanic and spent countless hours ministering to his Bradley GT. He was a fearless do-it-yourself-er and took on home repair projects that would’ve given Bob Vila pause, leaving a string of houses across the country better than when he found them. These skills he learned from his Pop, dad, and brothers, and passed on to his sons and daughter - who always called him first when something went clunk.
John is survived by his beloved wife Robin and is the dear father of Rebecca (Scott) Yoho, Eric (Sarah Staff) Myers, and Stephen (Kasiani Pozios) Myers. Papa John was a doting grandfather to Mae, Erik, Finn, Peter, and Dimitri. Further surviving John are his 7 brothers - Francis (Phyllis), Gerald (Rita), Thomas (Patricia), Henry, Edward (Gloria), William (Donna), Michael (Nora), his brother-in-law David (Stephanie), countless cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends across the many places he and his family called home. John was preceded in death by his parents.
