TURNER
Karen Ann (McCann) – age 72 of Fairfield passed away Monday, September 11, 2023.  She was born January 24, 1951 in Syracuse, New York, to Thomas and Nancy McCann (Ziegler).  On April 12, 1975 in Minoa, New York, she married Richard Turner.  Karen worked as an accountant and also as a school cook.  Karen truly had a gift for cooking.  She loved her book club and reading.  She would read 100 books a year.  After retirement, Karen volunteered her time to help children read within the Sidney City School district, hoping her passion for reading would continue within others.  Karen loved playing games with her grandchildren as well as following all their activities.  Karen is survived by her loving husband Rich; sons Brian (Rebecca) Turner, Mike (Allison) Turner; grandchildren Rachel, Jacob and Andrew, Lauren and Natalie; also survived by her mother Nancy, brother Scott McCann and sister Chris Viscusi.  Karen is preceded in death by her father and her brother James McCann.  Visitation will be held Monday, September 18, 2023 from 12:00 PM until time of service (3:00PM) at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 4601 Fairfield Ave., Fairfield OH 45014 with Pastor Mark Gregory officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be allocated to organizations important to Karen.  Online condolences may be left for the family by visiting www.avancefuneralhome.com
