Larry Ray Johnson, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at his home in Hamilton.
Born to the late Marvin and Lillian (Lakes) Johnson, Larry lived in Ohio—and Indiana for a while—during his youth. At age 18, he proudly joined the U.S. Army as MP at the Nike missile base in Minnesota. When he returned to Ohio, he worked for a short time as a mechanic at a friend’s station before joining Southwestern Ohio Steel (SOS). He was a loving father to two daughters and enjoyed spending leisure time attending auto races as well as boating and fishing with his dad.
Also an avid golf enthusiast, Larry took early retirement from SOS and spent his last two plus decades watching pro matches while enjoying as much time as possible on the water with his lifelong sport, lake fishing.
Larry is survived by his two loving daughters, Kimberly (Bridges) and her husband Chris of Sarasota, Florida; and Kristi (Corbeil) and her husband, Larry of Magnolia, Delaware; cherished grandchildren, Madison and Allison; close cousins and extended family; as well as great friends in Ohio, Tennessee, Florida and beyond.
Memorials are being planned for future dates and locations.
