Marcia Ruth (Day) Anderson

Dr Marcia Ruth Anderson died April, 29, 2021 in Cincinnati, Ohio after struggling with cancer for a few months. Marcia R Day was born April 16, 1941 in Hudson, South Dakota to Harry and Mabel (Peterson) Day.   She graduated top of the1959 class, after which she entered Gustavus Adolphus College, St Peter, Minnesota majoring in music. She transferred to the University of South Dakota, in Vermillion in 1961 majoring in Elementary Education. Merlowe J Anderson her high school sweetheart was attending the University and they would marry on August 11, 1962 in the Nathanael Lutheran Church, Alcester, South Dakota. On January, 1967 their first son (Matthew) was born in the Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Their second son (Marquette) was born March 1970 in the University of North Carolina Hospital, Chapel Hill.
Marcia and Merlowe divorced in 1997. She got her Masters of Divinity at Lee College in Cleveland TN, She then qualified for the ThM Degree from Trinity International University of Deerfield, Illinois in 1994 She moved to Singapore as a missionary from 1994 to 1996 then to Manila, Philippines in June of 1996 and began teaching at the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries until 2006.  She received her Doctorate in Theology from Trinity in Old Testament in 2005 moved to Eldoret Kenya and became the Dean of Students and Professor at Discipleship College in 2006 until 2018.  In 2018 she moved back to the USA to help her sister Miriam.
She is survived by her sons, Matthew (Tammy Hampe). In Orlando, Florida and grandchildren Joshua and Jessica; Marquette (Tina Wilmsen), La Colle Sur Loup, France and grand children Chiara and Giulia;  brother Donald Day, sister Miriam Cox; and many relatives and friends that will truly miss her.
Those that have gone before her were her parents, Harry and Mable (Peterson) Day, and her 3 brothers, Lester, Oliver and Warren Day.
