Max Gossett was born on April 15, 1928 and graduated to heaven on January 3, 2017. His proud parents were William Cary Walker and Hazel Faye Gossett Walker. Max was married to Blanche Schreiber Walker from Brookville, Indiana, for 64 years. He loved his wife and two children, Brent Gossett (Leslie) Walker and Cinda Jean (Jon) Whitaker. Max has three grandsons: Cary Gossett (Magdalena) Walker, Mark Edson (Courtney) Walker, and Robert Christopher Walker as well as three great grandchildren: Maya, Jackson, and Avery (coming in 2017). Max was preceded in death by two sisters: Shirley Schraw and Jean Grant.

Max graduated from Greenfield High School, Wilmington College, and Xavier University. He worked for General Electric for 33 years as a manager of taxes and insurance. He was also a Certified Public Accountant. Max served in the Air Force from 1951-1955 and was also an honorary Kentucky Colonel.

Max was a charter member of the Fairfield Church of Christ. He served as an elder, bible school teacher, and church treasurer. In 2008, he was recognized an “elder emeritus” from the Fairfield Church. Having been raised on a farm, he had a strong work ethic. He loved God and the church and loved helping young families with their finances. Always, God’s church came first.

The celebration of life service for Max will be held at Christ’s Church at Mason, 5165 Western Row Rd., 45040 at 11 a.m. on January 9, 2017. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating will be Brian Schreiber, David Hargrave, and Tom Moll.
