MERSMANN
Robert Edwin, age 85, passed away on December 24, 2011 at Mercy Fairfield. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth (nee Pfeiffer); devoted father of Sue (Bill) Foll, Peggy Mersmann, and Mary (Steve) Bergman; dear grandfather of Buddy (Sara) Foll, Theresa (Kelly) Keho, Allison Bergman, and Caitlin Bergman; loving great-grandfather of five. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Thoman. He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Vera (nee Helmers) Mersmann; his sisters, Imelda Moorman and Eunice Doerger; and his brother, Bernard Mersmann.
Bob graduated from Elder High School; he also attended Xavier University where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in business and an MBA. He was a CPA during his tenure at Fernald, and retired from Teledyne Ohio Steel, in Lima, OH as Executive Vice President. Bob served in the Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater.
A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 400 Nilles Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014 on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 10 a.m.
