Sandra M. Roberts

ROBERTS Sandra Mae age 76, of Hamilton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday September 16, 2021 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on April 11, 1945 in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of the late Eldon C. Phillips Sr. and Mary E. (McCormick) Phillips. She graduated from Garfield Senior High School in 1963 and is an alumnus of Miami University Oxford, Ohio.  She was employed by Fort Hamilton-Hughes Memorial Hospital as a laboratory technician for over 35 years.  Sandy’s calling from a very early age set the beginnings of her career in healthcare, the cornerstone of her life’s work, as she provided a positive example for others to exemplify, continually being an unwavering colleague and mentor to many as she provided vital assistance and her own blood to the community.  Outside of work, she led the hospital softball team at the hot corner, playing many years as the team’s third baseman.  Sports were ingrained in her life from birth, as she was ardent Cincinnati sports fan, cheering on and supported her beloved Cincinnati Reds with the Big Red Machine and deep stripes of the Cincinnati “Who Dey” Bengals, never wavering from every single outing, every single game.  Sandy loved life to the fullest, enjoying the traveling roadways from the great outdoors tucked away close to a firepit in Hueston Woods, to every trailhead within the Tennessee Smokey Mountains, but most importantly the salty air, sunsets and beaches of Destin, Florida; her home away from home.  Her circle of family and friends are the core of her heart, as she always accepted an outstretched hand for help, an extra plate at the table, a hug and heartfelt love for those in need of a strong unwavering shoulder.  The hearth of Sandy’s table was never ending, with each loving holiday dinner, complete with coffee and many, many desserts.  Her memory carries many ripples within the waters of life, extending for generations.  She is survived by her beloved husband John Roberts, and sons Nicholas Roberts & Matthew and Diana Roberts; her brothers Eldon and Christine Phillips, Gerald and Barbara Phillips, Ronnie and (late Virgie) Phillips, Dennis and Sandy Phillips, Dean and Donna Phillips, Eddie and Mae Roberts, JC Jr. and Jana Roberts, Wanda and Kenneth Smith and Gary and Belinda Dunaway; her grandchildren Tia Yonezawa, Ethan Smith, Stephanie Roberts, Isabella Roberts, Madilyn Sherman and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Eldon and Mary Phillips, sister Mary and Steve Anglin, sister Gloria and Gary Rednour, brother Darryl Phillips, mother and father-in-law JC and Flora Roberts, sister-in-law Sharon Phillips and daughter Carrie Catherine Roberts.
Viewing and service will be Thursday September 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Avance Funeral Home at 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield, Ohio 45014 with the Burial in Rose Hill Burial Park following the service.  The Celebration of Life will be held in the near future, place and time to be determined.  In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Hospice of Cincinnati online, as the family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Cincinnati for their excellent care during this most difficult time.
