Vernon Ray Haubner, age 94, of Hamilton passed away at the Woodlands of Hamilton on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Vern was born on June 21, 1927, to the late Joseph and Marie Haubner. He graduated from Mt. Healthy High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army during WWII. Vern worked as a carpenter for his father’s home building company, Haubner Builders, and eventually ran the company with his brother Norman until his retirement. He continued doing woodworking and restoring antiques, as well as enjoying farm life in his retirement. Vern is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Esther Haubner. He is survived by their five children: Barb (Phil) Vest, Dale (Kathy) Haubner, Peggy (Tony) Baumer, Randy (Shelli) Haubner, and Gary (Mary Beth) Haubner. He was a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren Jenna, Crista, Anna, Casey, Ali, Joel, Alex, Jacob, Maddie, Mitchell, and Lydia; and great-grandchildren Sophia, Moxley, Parker, Ava, and Claire. A funeral service open only to immediate and extended family, will be held at Queen of Peace Church in Millville. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Hamilton (Cincinnati).
