Cecile Knox-Wilson

Cecile Knox Wilson, age 90 of Fairfield passed away peacefully Saturday August 28, 2004 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 25, 1914 in Eaton, OH the daughter of Arthur H. and Goldie (Crist) Davis, Sr.

Mrs. Wilson led a full active life despite physical disabilities from childhood tuberculosis. She was a founding member of the Lindenwald Little League and Babe Ruth League baseball teams in the early 1950's. Mrs. Wilson was a 1932 graduate of Seven Mile High School and Mercy Hospital Nursing School as an LPN, and then working more than twenty years at Mercy Hospital Hamilton as a ward secretary.

In June of 1932 she married Charles Raynor Knox, who was killed in action during WWII on November 20, 1944 in the Battle of Hurtgen Forest, Germany. Their son Charles "Tom" Knox was born in August 18, 1942. He retired as Hamilton's Police Chief in 1993 and currently is the Police Chief of Union Township Clermont County.

In 1948 Mrs. Wilson married Samuel Austin Wilson who passed away on July 5, 1964. She is survived by her son Charles "Tom" Knox and daughter-in-law Sue Knox of Hamilton; granddaughter Kristen Bevis and husband Steve of Shandon; grandson Craig Knox and fiancee Tammy Snyder of Lebanon; 2 brothers; 5 sisters and numerous special friends from Manor Care of Woodridge. May she rest peacefully, knowing she was the matriarch of a family that has been, and will continue to be a source of pride for her to watch over eternally.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family at Rose Hill Burial Park. The Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, Fairfield is serving the family. The family will accept condolences at www.avancefuneralhome.com.
